REES’ Paige Fruits Named Volunteer of the Year by IIDA Oklahoma City

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Oklahoma City Center recognized REES’ Paige Fruits as Volunteer of the Year for providing impactful service as the Texas Oklahoma Chapter Vice President for Advocacy in Oklahoma. Specifically, her efforts with local legislators, IIDA Headquarters and the Oklahoma Interior Design Coalition.

Paige has provided incredible service to the Oklahoma City Center through her role and her work with state legislators has been invaluable.

In her advocacy role with IIDA, Paige worked to obtain a $20,000 grant from the IIDA headquarters for her local city center to promote the importance of the interior design occupation.  Paige organizes and attends several events throughout the community to further promote the organization’s mission; to advocate for its members and the profession so interior designers may practice to their fullest abilities.

Paige believes that the interior design industry is more significant to the general welfare of the public than what is perceived. “The importance for our communities to expand past the popular television network perception of interior designers drives my focus in volunteer work. I want to educate the public on what exactly interior designers do.  For instance, registered interior designers are responsible for many aspects of a building’s interior including space planning, technical construction drawings and the compliance to ADA guidelines and the current code,” said Paige.

REES has offices in Oklahoma and Texas and works on a broad range of corporate commercial, education, healthcare, multifamily and senior living projects.

We are proud to have employees who’s passion for service extends beyond the work that we do for our clients to make an impact on the community and in the industry. Paige has been a great team member and it’s nice to see her volunteer efforts service leadership recognized.
