Solomon Andrew Layton Award presented by American Institute of Architects Central Oklahoma Chapter

REES was named Firm of the Year by the Central Oklahoma Chapter of American Institute of Architects. The Solomon Andrew Layton Firm of the Year Award was presented to REES for distinguishing itself over the past five years, to the betterment of the profession and community, through leadership, vision and design.

“We’re thrilled our clients have allowed us to work on so many exciting projects,” said Allan Parr, REES’ CEO. “The combination of great clients and a dedicated team of architects, designers and interior designers has resulted in a strong record of successful projects.”

REES was founded in Oklahoma City in 1975 with a focus on healthcare architecture. Since then the firm has grown to more than 60 employees between its offices in Oklahoma and Texas and expanded the types of projects it works on. In addition to healthcare, REES works on a broad range of corporate commercial, education, multifamily and senior living projects.

REES has recently completed several large projects in Oklahoma including Mercy Cancer Center, St. Anthony Hospital Pavilion, WinStar Conference Center and the University of Oklahoma’s Helmerich Collaborative Learning Center.

“I love seeing the transformation that new or renovated spaces can have on people and organizations” said Farooq Karim, REES’ Director of Design. “It’s a great feeling to partner with our clients to achieve their vision and work with them as that vision turns into reality.”

The firm is also active in the community. REES’ dining space at Design Appetite, benefiting Focus on Home, recently won the People’s Choice Award. Team members also regularly volunteer to cook meals for families staying at Toby Keith’s OK Kids Korral, which REES helped design. Staff members also serve in several leadership roles for organizations including: Leadership Oklahoma, Leadership OKC, Foundation for Excellence, AIA COC, LOYAL and the International Interior Design Association.

This is the second time REES has won the Solomon Andrew Layton Award. The firm also received the award in 1999. REES also recently won the Firm of the Year Award from the Texas Oklahoma Chapter of the International Interior Design Association.
