Supporting The Toby Keith Foundation Beyond Design

In 2014, the Toby Keith Foundation approached REES about designing their new Kids Korral in Oklahoma City. What we didn't know at the time was that our partnership would extend far beyond a simple design project.

The Kids Korral provides accommodations at no charge for pediatric cancer patients and families receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center and other nearby facilities.

“It was a really fun project with a great client,” said Angela Rapihana, an interior designer at REES. As our team worked with staff and interacted with guests, they fell in love with the mission of the Kids Korral.

“We have been supporting the Kids Korral in different ways ever since they opened their doors and we plan to continue supporting this wonderful organization and the families they help,” said Angela.

Volunteers from REES started by preparing meals for the Kids Korral families each month. “The families are always so thankful to have a meal that is planned and prepared for them since they have so much on their plates already,” said Angela.

As other opportunities have surfaced, our staff has jumped in to help. Last month, we participated in the OK Kids Korral’s 5k and A Mile in Their Boots Walk.

One of REES’ core values is building long-term relationships with our clients and sometimes supporting our clients takes different forms than we expect. We’re thankful to be able to join in the work of caring for cancer patients and their families.
