REES Names 2009 Board of Directors

REES, an architecture, planning and interior design firm, is proud to announce their 2009 Board of Directors. REES is an employee-owned firm with an external governing board of directors with three internal members. The 2009 Board of Directors includes Robert Herchert, Andrew Levi, Ford Price, John Sloan, General Dr. David Young, Ron Luman, Frank Rees and Farooq Karim. The two most recent additions to the REES board are Ford Price and Brigadier General (Dr.) David Young, III. These elected board members serve three year terms.

Mr. Ford Price  Ford Price is one of the founders and one of two managing partners of Price Edwards & Company. Mr. Price is responsible, with his co-managing partner, Carl Edwards for the overall growth, profitability and direction of the Oklahoma based commercial real estate services firm. Price Edwards was founded in 1988. Under the direction and leadership of Mr. Price and Mr. Edwards, the firm has grown to become one of the largest and most experienced real estate service firms in the Southwest. Its current portfolio comprises roughly 8 million square feet of office, retail and industrial space and 4,000 apartment units in Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana. The firm employs approximately 250 people.

Mr. Price is actively involved in overseeing all management and leasing efforts of the firm’s 4 million square foot office building portfolio to ensure asset protection and enhancement of client owned properties. His 23 years of experience of providing leasing, development, property, and investment management services to some of the nation’s largest institutional real estate owners have given him unique insight into the process required to maximize property income and value.

Prior to the formation of Price Edwards & Company, Mr. Price served as Project Manager, Vice-President and President of The Sweetser Companies, an Oklahoma firm specializing in the development of office properties. The Sweetser Companies was involved in the development of approximately 20 office properties comprising almost 2 million square feet. In-house capabilities included leasing, property management, brokerage, as well as both shell and interior construction.

Brigadier General (Dr.) David G. Young III   Brigadier General (Dr.) David G. Young III retired from active duty in the USAF on 1 January 2008 after nearly 30 years of service. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors degree in biology in 1971. While at Penn, he was a member of the fraternity of Delta Psi, and won three Varsity letters and four national championships as a member of the heavyweight rowing teams, representing the US as a member of the National Team. He graduated from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine in 1977, and was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. He served his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin Hospitals, was honored by the faculty as the “Best Internist” and became Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 1980. He entered active duty the same year and began an Air Force medical career which culminated in command of the Air Force’s largest teaching and research hospital, Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio Texas. He has served in clinical and leadership positions to include departmental chair, chief of the medical staff at hospital and medical center levels, commanding officer of a small hospital, a large hospital and the Air Force’s two largest teaching medical centers, all while maintaining an active clinical practice. Further he served as the Pacific Air Force Command Surgeon, and as a regional Lead Agent for the DoD’s TRICARE healthplan on three occasions. During his last five years on active duty, he served as the Assistant Surgeon General for the Medical Corps, responsible for the administration, education and career development of over 3,700 physicians. He was the first Air Force medical officer to win the Association of Military Surgeons’ Fred Chase Award for Physician Executive Excellence, and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences President’s Award for Outstanding Service for career-long support of education, research and clinical excellence.

Since that time, REES has been internationally recognized as a leading facility planning and design firm in the healthcare specialty as well as in Corporate, Broadcast, Senior Living, Higher Education, Government, and Justice specialties. The firm has completed over 7,350 assignments in 42 states and 35 foreign countries. REES comprises over 120 personnel in offices located in Atlanta, Dallas, Mexico City, Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Spokane.
