National Rural Hospital Replacement Study highlights Weatherford Regional Hospital’s Success

The Rural Hospital Replacement Study, issued by Stroudwater Associates, has identified Weatherford Regional Hospital’s new replacement hospital located in Weatherford, Oklahoma as one of the top performing Critical Access Hospitals in the United States. REES provided a FACILITY BUSINESS PLAN®, Architectural Design, and Interior Design services for the new operationally efficient hospital which includes 61,000 square feet and 25 beds. The new hospital’s performance during the first year of operation included a 29% increase in total volume, a 0% change in operating expenses, and only a 5% increase in staffing, even though the new facility is twice as large as the old hospital. According to Stephen Lawson, AIA, LEED AP and Vice President of Rees Associates, “this hospital is an outstanding example of the impact a new facility can have on a hospital’s financial performance, while simultaneously increasing staff and patient satisfaction.” Congratulations to Weatherford Regional Hospital.
