DALLAS ICON CELEBRATES 2010 NBA ALL-STAR GAME
In celebration of the 2010 NBA All-Star Game, the Bank of America Plaza in Dallas has been adorned with a supergraphic featuring Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki and Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James. As an example of REES’ outstanding portfolio, the building is currently celebrating its 24th anniversary.
Standing at more than 500 feet tall, the supergraphic was measured on February 10th by the Guinness Book of World Records and may beat the current Philippine record holder as the largest supergraphic of all time.
“When the building was designed 24 years ago, we expected the building to be an iconic addition to the city landscape.” REES Director Emeritus, Bill D. Smith, FAIA worked closely with Donald E. Jarvis, FAIA on the building and he notes, “We expected the building to be an icon for Dallas, but we did not expect it to have the magnificent power it possesses to be a super-billboard.”
The NBA All-Star Game will be played at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Sunday, February 14, 2010.
