ECU FINE ARTS CENTER FEATURED ON DISCOVER OKLAHOMA

Recently featured on the television program “Discover Oklahoma,” the new Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center entices the patronage of art enthusiasts throughout an eighteen-county region of Oklahoma.

The new Center provides learning, display, and multiple venues of performance space for East Central University’s Departments of Art, Communication, and Music. The 82,000 square foot center includes a tiered 1,000-seat auditorium and an adjacent "black box” theatre, as well as an art gallery, classrooms, rehearsal and studio spaces, costume shop, faculty offices, and production space for television and radio broadcasting.

“We have all of the arts on campus under this building,” said Dr. John Hargrave, 8th ECU President. “It has allowed us to
establish our first School of Fine Arts.”

The success of the Fine Arts Center has been contagious throughout the community. The influx of art lovers has provided a springboard to arts and entertainment related businesses which otherwise could not survive without a formalized district dedicated to creativity.
