THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA’S GAYLORD COLLEGE OF JOURNALISM AND MASS COMMUNICATION COMPLETES SECOND PHASE
“Journalism and mass communication are in one of the biggest inflection points in its history. Lines between media are blurred. Change is occurring at the speed of light. Interactivity and lay involvement have primacy. Yet, it is important for journalism to stay close to its roots as a vital component of a democratic society and to strengthen civil society. The Gaylord Hall addition completed in 2009 blends both the rich heritage of journalism with the 21st century fluidity of the field. REES also provided space with maximum flexibility that will serve us well when journalism and mass communication takes its next dramatic turn into the future.
“With both phases together, Gaylord Hall quite simply is the most impressive, most functional journalism and mass communication facility within higher education in the world.”
