HAPPY WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY!
Since 1972, millions of people across the globe have joined together in June to celebrate the earth’s natural resources and to promote positive environmental action.
Sponsored by the United Nations Environment Programme, the 2010 worldwide celebration will feature concerts, film festivals, educational events, and community service events across six continents. This June 5th, we encourage you to participate in the 38th annual World Environment Day! Click here to locate an event near you.
REES is committed to making our world a “greener” place through the practice of sustainable architecture. In the spirit of World Environment Day, we are featuring Bulgaria TV on our website. BTV, a LEED Gold equivalent project, is a great example of how REES promotes global sustainability.
- Vegetated Roof & Pervious Paving was designed to reduce the “Heat Island” effect and lower water runoff.
- A grey water system is reused for tech water, irrigates the roof, and is used in efficient plumbing fixtures.
- Energy efficient windows and electrical design reduce the energy requirements for the building.
