REES Dallas Office

Dallas, Texas

REES Associates’ Dallas office is relocating to the West End in downtown Dallas into a 1913 historic building. The office space will showcase an eco-friendly design and products to clients. REES is leading by example in hopes that the green-building trend will catch on in North Texas.

The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, provides a national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Owners and tenants can achieve silver, gold and platinum levels of LEED certification by racking up points for energy performance, including lighting and HVAC, water-usage efficiency and indoor environmental quality.

In the LEED process, it is often easier to achieve certification in an existing building. Points are earned by reuse of materials, planning of the space, reusing furnishings and maximizing outside daylight. The process for disposing of products is also very important.

Several REES employees are pursuing LEED accreditation and will use the new space as a case study. Visiting clients will hear from REES first hand about their experience and its impact.
