Modern Renovation for Atlanta Art District's Silhouette Building

The Silhouette Building (previously 1447 Peachtree Street) is a 220,000 square foot ten-story building originally built in the 1960s. In 2007, REES was hired by the new owners to renovate and reposition the building. While maximizing a very limited budget, the design for the renovation references the urban arts district in which it resides, as well as the small gallery-like Museum of Contemporary Art located just off the main lobby. The renovation included the addition of lighted gate-ways supporting a glass canopy leading to the building entry, along with a new fountain element and landscaping. The building lobby and all tenant floor lobbies, corridors and bathrooms were renovated and include custom digital wall covering that reinforces the bold exterior Silhouette concept.
