University of Oklahoma Bizzell Library Renovation

The University of Oklahoma asked REES to develop a new concept for the Collaborative Learning Center of the Neustadt addition at OU Bizzell Library. The main focus of the project was to create a “collaborative environment” for students and staff from across the campus. This enables more interactive work and learning in a technologically and physically flexible space. The design includes technology improvements and furniture system upgrades, in coordination with the OU Technology and A&E Departments, to accommodate the students’ growing needs. The Bookmark Café is a major portion of the project for the Collaborative Learning Center and was coordinated with the OU Housing & Food Services Department. In coordination with a Library Master Plan, also designed by REES, the renovation has set the foundation for redefining the brand of the OU Bizzell Library.
