Vacant Dallas School Converted into a Community Resource Center

Partnered with Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Outreach Center, Dallas ISD approached REES with the vision to transform a vacant elementary school, built in 1932, into a center of inspiration for the community. Frazier House is the first-of-its kind and serves to impact the students and families of DISD with resources for counseling, education, occupation, legal and social services.

The two-story, 36,000-square-foot space was completely redesigned to house multiple rooms for educational and training uses, a multi-purpose auditorium and administration offices for Dallas ISD. Removing walls and updating lighting in the vestibule promotes daylighting and directs visitors to the open reception area. We also created space for an on-site call center to serve as a source for job placement of Frazier House visitors.
