Medium Security Facility for Cimarron Correctional Facility

The Cimarron Correctional Facility, a 190,000 square foot, 1,000 bed medium security private prison, is a major economic development for the town of Cushing as well as a significant answer to prison overcrowding. Eight housing pods of 60 double occupancy cells are operated with direct supervision by corrections staff. Each 120 bed pod is coupled with a dayroom and another 120 bed pod forming a "bowtie" configuration. This results in a highly efficient management unit. Other buildings include the ancillary building, which serves as the central community facility and houses the 20 cell segregation unit; an industrial building containing classrooms, industry and maintenance areas; and a gymnasium that includes recreational facilities, classrooms, arts and crafts areas and a barber shop.
