From its corporate contributions to its individual employee donations and involvement, REES Inc. prides itself in a culture of deep community support.
In its Oklahoma City headquarters as well as throughout the firm, REES encourages and enforces its company mission statement that stresses the importance of community involvement. Our involvement in the community is a testament to our support of our employees to volunteer give charitably and support programs within the community according to Kristina Dover, marketing coordinator for the architectural firm.
In February, the Oklahoma City office created a new community involvement committee to step up it employees involvement in various organizations as well as its corporate giving and involvement. The committee is currently reviewing a list of possible organizations to align with in the Oklahoma City community.
Recently the organization was named a “Best Places to work in Oklahoma” for the second year in a raw. According to the company survey results, 89 percent of the staff believe the organization contributes to the community and 93 percent believe “this organization’s culture is special – something you don’t find just anywhere.”
REES’ involvement includes being the top corporate fundraiser for Junior Achievement during Liberty Bowl since 2004. The firm also designed and helped build Exchange City at Oklahoma Science Museum for Junior Achievement, an organization dedicated to educating young people about business, economics and free enterprise.
“Through Rees’ fundraising efforts on behalf of Junior Achievement of Greater Oklahoma City over 6000 students have been challenged to make wise decisions and dream big goals,” said Steve Kime, president of Junior Achievement of Greater Oklahoma City. “Our success for touching the life of a student can be directed back to the gracious support our office received annually from REES.”
The company also is an annual supporter of Allied Arts, United Way, OKC Beautiful and Saint Baldricks. In addition, each year the company adopts two of five families in need at Christmas. REES also makes numerous corporate charitable contributions to local and national nonprofit organizations, including National Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Heart Association, Arthritis Foundation, Citizens for Kids, Special Olympics and Make a Wish Foundation. Employees have stepped up to the plate as well, volunteering their time and efforts for numerous nonprofit organizations as well as donating their hard-earned money to help out these good causes.
