The new WFSB TV Station is featured on two levels in a small community just south of Hartford.
The WFSB and REES history began in 1985, with a FACILITY BUSINESS PLAN®. A programming exercise determined the current square footage of 65,000 s.f.
The new facility is on two levels in a small community just south of Hartford called Rocky Hill. Rocky Hill, which is true to its name, proved to be a very challenging site. REES had to cut or blast approximately 18 feet of rock to place the building at the proper elevation on the site.The building is sited to take advantage of an existing helipad since the station will have a helicopter. The site elevation also requires an STL/TSL tower of approximately 150’ in height.
There are 10 edit bays included in the facility with news and the on air news set in the center of the operation with sales and administration looking down into the on air set.
