The multi-channel Georgia Public Broadcast Telecommunications Complex is designed to enhance distribution of educational programming throughout the country and to serve the communities of Georgia.
This new 230,000-square-foot public broadcast and distance learning facility was designed for one of the leading PBS organizations in the United States. The GPB complex houses GPTV Public Television (9-station PTV network), Peach State Public Radio (12-station network), Distance Learning Center (six studios and channels), local television production and Administrative Headquarters.
Through innovative and creative design, the facility improves operational efficiency. Personnel productivity is enhanced by consolidating station functions. In addition, systems are planned for conversion to digital electronic media.
The facility is a focal point for neighboring community groups and organizations to meet and plan various projects and events. The building is split by a three-level atrium used for community functions. Further, the facility accommodates live events with seating for 250.
