The 1447 Peachtree Street project in Atlanta is a ten-story, 1960s building that underwent a renovation in the 1990s. In 2007, the new owners, Day Capital, along with Lincoln Property Company, hired Rees/Atlanta to renovate and reposition the building.
Re-named Silhouette, the building is located in the arts district of Midtown Atlanta, just down Peachtree Street from the High Museum of Art. Maximizing a limited budget, the design references the urban arts district in which it resides, as well as the small gallery-like Museum of Contemporary Art located just off the main lobby. The renovation included addition of lighted gateways supporting a glass canopy leading to the building entry, along with a new fountain element and landscaping. The building lobby and all tenant floor lobbies, corridors and bathrooms were renovated and include custom digital wall covering that reinforces the Silhouette concept.
