JP Morgan Chase Bedford Operations Center (formerly Bank One)

A new two-story, 230,000 square foot addition to an existing three level 200,000 square foot building was designed to serve as a regional check processing center for JP Morgan Chase.

Space was provided for more than 1,600 employees who would occupy the building in three shifts, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

On site parking provided for 1,500 cars, including a 1,000 car two-level parking structure that nestled into the gradual slope of the site and formed an impressive foreground base for the building towards the back of the site.

Internally, the addition was carefully planned around the heavily automated check processing and sorting routine. This required careful coordination between JP Morgan Chase staff, operating procedures, and equipment; and the final design solution in order to provide a more efficient, economical, and safe working environment.
