Mirant Corporation, a national power producer and trader, needed to renovate and restack their Atlanta headquarters.
REES aided Mirant in the process, working with user groups to consolidate the six existing floors into four and to reestablish departmental adjacencies. REES also provided new standard finishes, including carpet and paint throughout the space, as well as additional lighting and workstations.
Different accent colors were utilized to make each floor identifiable, and Modular Arts panels were applied to accent walls, adding depth, individuality, and dimension to the elevator lobbies. Break areas on each floor were renovated and expanded with patterned tile flooring and accent millwork.
REES also worked with Mirant to reevaluate conference space needs on the trade floor. A moveable wall system was identified as a solution to increase Mirant’s current conference space while maintaining future flexibility. The system chosen was coordinated with existing finishes and framing elsewhere on the trade floor. The film pattern on the glass closely mimicked the sandblasted windows and ensured a higher degree of privacy for users.
