Chickasaw Nations Industries, Inc. – IT Building

Norman, Oklahoma

The CNI Data Center is a two-story Tier III (Plus), concurrently maintainable facility, as described by the Uptime Institute Inc. The building is designed to withstand the destructive forces of an F3 tornado debris cloud while maintaining 99.99% uninterrupted power availability for the life of the facility. Additionally, it uses the latest “green” techniques established for the data center design industry.

Electrical distribution within the data center will be provided at medium voltage, the same as that of the utility company. This eliminates one level of voltage transformation, saving about 15% of total energy consumption normally lost to heat and significant additional savings through the use of less copper. Employing fewer components also results in greater reliability.

The total mechanical/electrical systems design consumes less material, occupies less space and operates on less energy than other similar facilities being built today. When completed it will be one of the most advanced in the world, yet built at a lower cost.
