Multiple design efforts extending over several years were required to update Delta Air Lines Global Headquarters facilities and to create standards for new branches.
Delta Air Lines had not evaluated its corporate design standards in over 20 years and was in need of a new visual vocabulary that could accomplish several goals. Their objectives included making better use of available real estate; increasing employee effectiveness; recruiting and retaining employees through updated work environments; and creating spaces that more accurately reflect the company’s place in the global airlines market while referencing company history.
Working directly with the senior management team at Delta, Rees created fiscally responsible and appropriate design solutions for virtually all areas of the Global Headquarters by utilizing existing parameters. A new set of flexible design standards were created to serve the full range of spatial and image challenges of a large, multiple-location organization.
