The New Metropolitan

Design Build 155,000 square foot religious architecture located on a 40 acre campus within the Washington DC metro area that incorporates a 3000 seat auditorium and 90,000 square foot administrative center.

A Chapel surrounded by a reflecting pool provides a focal point for all who are entering the complex. Lecture rooms, education spaces, a banquet hall and a performing arts theater are integral spaces within this facility. The auditorium space is designed to allow natural light to enter the space and is also acoustically sensitive to the spoken word as well as musical performances that will occur within. All 3000 seats within the auditorium are within one hundred feet of the speaker, making for a very intimate space for the audience.

REES provided in depth programming services for the project that allowed the Metropolitan to achieve a very critical schedule established for design, completing fast track construction documents in record time to allow for phased permitting of the site work so that the design build team could begin construction while final permitting of the structure was being completed.
