After the completion of a FACILITY BUSINESS PLAN®, East Texas Baptist University called upon REES to design a new Student Center.

Located at the heart of campus, the new 32,226 s.f., two-story facility houses an open student activity area, three multipurpose rooms, two great rooms, a chapel, governance room, food service area, student services and public meeting spaces.

Complementing the style of the existing campus, the Student Center’s exterior brick façade integrates cast stone accents around the windows and base of the building. Stained glass windows in selected upper floor rooms reinforce the University’s religious heritage, and add ambiance to the chapel. Interior finishes range from formal hardwoods in gathering and recital spaces to playful, more modern accents in student activity areas.

The building is expected to set the design standard for all future campus construction.
