REES has completed the design for the additions and alterations to DeSoto East Junior High School.
Renovations include updating the facility for visual and functional equivalence with newer schools in the district. The building was modified to create a new image for the East School.
A main entrance structure was added to provide a protected and inviting entry. It features a 20 foot square pyramid shaped skylight at the main lobby and a masonry colonnade along the entire front facade. A secondary public entrance was constructed as a part of the multi‑purpose addition.
This entrance was also marked by a pyramid shaped skylight. Other additions include new locker and dressing room facilities which create interior corridor linkage to outlying campus buildings.
