This 306-bed teaching hospital is strategically located in the geographical center of the patients it serves and was the highest volume obstetrics hospital in the United States when it was built.
Affiliated with the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, the 430,000 square foot facility is located on 20 acres with easy access to a major expressway.
The first floor houses an emergency room, outpatient clinics and radiology department. The second floor is occupied by the Obstetrics Department. The third and fourth floors house intensive care units, operating rooms, laboratories, recovery beds, physical therapy departments, administrative offices and other services.
Harris County Hospital District selected the North-North East Joint Venture partnership of Rees Associates, Inc. and Llewelyn- Davies Sahni, Inc. to provide the planning and design services.
