St. Anthony Hospital - Tenth Floor Medical Teaching Service Unit Renovation

The dated facility and need for space in the existing Medical Teaching Service Unit necessitated the relocation of the existing 21- bed inpatient care nit from the 7th floor to the 10th floor. The relocated unit will continue to have 21 private rooms with the ability to add 4 additional beds by converting to semi-private if necessary.

The Medical Teaching Service Unit expanded the nurse’s station and residents areas to better facilitate the rounding and teaching functions and interdisciplinary care team approach that is integral to the success of a teaching unit. Further enhancements included an expanded medication room, larger family and visitor waiting room, and a conference room for the medical teaching staff and residents/interns.

Construction on the renovated facility was completed in 2006 at a cost of approximately $1 million.
