The Stillwater Medical Center Serving and Dining Renovation project was designed as a bright, open space with a comfortable color scheme that improved the flow and function of the serving area.
Circulation in the serving area was designed to allow diners to move through food lines faster than before. While a central beverage station anchors the Serving Room, the salad bar and grill are maintained at opposite ends. This keeps lines moving without backing up even in the busiest times of the day.
The Dining Room has been opened up to create a significantly more inviting space than before. A strip of interior windows was added along the corridor that creates the illusion of a sidewalk café adding a touch of the unexpected in the basement of the hospital.
“We are very pleased with our new serving and dining area. SMC visitors and staff have shared how much they enjoy using the inviting space to step away and have a meal. In addition to increasing visitor and staff satisfaction, the openness of the floor plan not only looks great but has improved our customer flow and volume.”
