Rees Associates designed a new 70,000 square foot, state of the art rural hospital that is sensitive to the rural community needs of Lamesa, Texas.
A larger emergency department and outpatient center are the two driving factors to the planning of this new hospital. The two departments support each other and are situated such that each department can flex into the other. The ambulatory emergency entrance and the outpatient entrance, although once considered the back door of any hospital, are now given a high priority in this scheme and effectively become the front door to the hospital. The main visitor entrance and drop off is still a main focal point to the hospital to draw patients and visitors alike to the more public side of the hospital.
