Pecos County Memorial Hospital is a new 33-bed, 85,000-square-foot community hospital and physicians’ clinic with unique design features that are responsive to the ever-changing needs of rural healthcare.

It replaces a much older and rapidly declining facility. The new hospital is patient focused and emphasizes outpatient services. It maximizes patient comfort and satisfaction by minimizing patient movement. Related operations are adjacent to each other to reduce patient travel and increase the sharing of staff and common spaces. 



The design permits the expanded use of cross-trained staff and a streamlined management team with fewer department heads. These innovations mean more patient contact by fewer staff persons with less patient confusion at less cost
