REES developed the new Logan Medical Center Clinic to reflect the community and capture Guthrie’s rich history in the exterior of the building. Guthrie, the original capital of Oklahoma, has a community of historical buildings and architecture throughout the town.
The client wanted to achieve a design that was both a modern healthcare clinic and a reflection of the historical presence of Guthrie. This is achieved through the intricate masonry work at the entrance, stone archways, and cast stone colonnades.
This rural health clinic was programmed around the space needs for 7 physicians. The plan includes 21 exam rooms, two procedure rooms, a 200 square foot lab area, and a high volume X-Ray room. One in three exam rooms will be finished for pediatric use.
The clinic was created to provide some efficiencies to staff and patients that aren’t typically found in rural areas. The clinic is open extended hours for patient use in emergency situations. The interior design enhances the ease for the staff and patients by centrally locating services such as nursing, registration and dictation. The location of the doctor’s offices, nurse stations and patient rooms was carefully placed for ultimate patient care.
