The Centralized Services Building on FAA’s Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) Campus was initially designed by the architect commissioned by Jacqueline Kennedy.
The facility functions as the primary food service, catering and banquet facility for all MMAC employees as well as a large population of visiting trainees. The first floor dining area was rebranded with modern appointments and aeronautical themed interiors. Food service areas received major renovations to visually compete with popular retail food venues while the food preparation areas, predominantly at the basement level, underwent complete kitchen equipment, refrigeration, storage, employee support and finish replacement. The Basement level also provides access to the campus sub-terrainian pathways and crucial loading dock services.
The exterior of the facility was updated to attract customers and address the expansion. Mechanical Systems incorporated anti-terrorism design concepts. Landscaping and exterior dining areas have been added to provide comfortable outdoor respite and protection from the Oklahoma climate during employee breaks.
