Federal Bureau of Investigation - Kentucky

Louisville, Kentucky

Tier II - Redundancy lasting 40 hours for essential business - Progressive Collapse and Federal Government Security Measures

The Federal Bureau of Investigation facility in Louisville, Kentucky, in conjunction with GSA, is comprised of a three-story office building, two-story secured parking garage, and associated annex. Each of these elements is set within the required 100 foot security perimeter.

The office building consists of approximately 108,000 square feet of space around a centrally located 3-story atrium. Entrances to the secured parking garage are accessible from two floors. In addition, the facility includes a staff lounge and outdoor secured terrace. REES’ design carefully balanced progressive collapse needs with sustainable daylighting and light shelf elements.

Exterior architecture draws from the traditional style of surrounding Louisville, and is designed to be expandable in the future up to 30% while maintaining functionality and security features.

The FBI Louisville project is LEED Silver certified.
