Operations Center 2N Redundancy
The DalTrans Transportation Management Center located in the Dallas Metroplexserves the entire Dallas county-wide region and deploys its critical mission using intelligent transportation systems software across secure integrated services digital networks to coordinate emergency incident response with numerous agencies such as regional 911 Centers, Dallas Sheriff’s Office, Fire Department, DFW Airport, Love Field, DART and other state wide law enforcement agencies.
The Center provides 24/7 real time video display on a two story board in the Control Room where video console station operators manage the computer aided dispatch system of emergency vehicle equipment for rapid deployment of resources. The Center’s Primary communications backbone is an asynchronous transfer mode receiving data from communication satellites and T-1 line multiplexors are used along the roadway to transmit data into the Control Room where control and command operations are housed.
Survivability of the DalTrans system and this Center is ensured by 2N server level redundancy backed up by an emergency diesel generator and UPS system for uninterrupted system operation. Management Center security design prevents acts of intrusion by use of fenceline standoff distances and camera surveillance.
