Rui Hong Xin Senior Living

Shanghai, China

The Rui Hong Xin Cheng Senior Living Community will be comprised of 338 living units in a single landmark building.

The facility, which is being designed to in accordance with the principles of feng shui, is rotated on the site to maximize east-facing exposure. A dramatic entrance will be located adjacent to the vehicular canopy that projects over the main entry drive, and will provide access to a dedicated elevator for use by Independent Living residents. A separate dedicated entrance will allow controlled access to the Skilled Nursing and Memory Care floors. The top levels of the facility will house Independent Living common areas, a rooftop bistro club, and exclusive penthouse units.

The building’s articulated form, careful placement of the building on the proposed site, and proposed building materials reflect the high quality of the facility’s design standards. The design is a play of rectangular forms with offset planes and projecting balconies, and the expansive glass will provide breathtaking views in all directions. Expressive roof elements and colorful forms will highlight the building’s predominantly glass and stone facade.
