The new Norman Veterans Center provides an atmosphere and image which fosters the "will-to-live", maximizes the dignity of the residents, and encourages the pride of both staff and veterans.

Gralla/REES was commissioned to complete a FACILITY BUSINESS PLAN® and to design a new state veterans center for long-term nursing care. The new 315,000-square-foot replacement facility houses 301 veterans with beds allocated for psychiatric, Alzheimer's, skill level I and skill level II.



The facility includes permanent housing facilities, dining, an activity lounge, multi-purpose spaces, and clinical and medical facilities. The site contains exterior courtyards specially landscaped and hardscaped. The entire complex is located on 240 acres with several ponds and vegetated areas. The building site provides good views, privacy, accessibility and potential areas to be developed for outdoor activities for the residents and staff.
