Interior Designer (Entry-Level)

Development and production of project documents including primary space planning and interiors related as part of a project team.  Coordinate all project phases concentrating primarily on interior design.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design and produce project documents including but not limited to: programming, space planning schematic designs, design developments, construction documents and presentation documents.
  • Interpret plans and specifications.
  • Maintain knowledge of interior code requirements and the applicable electrical/HVAC codes.
  • Originate technical research for interior projects.
  • Coordinates construction administration and performs such tasks as review of submissions, organization of files, and observe installation.
  • Assist with furniture specifications.
  • Maintain resource library.
  • Research new products for resource library; implement valuable products into the resource library.
  • Meet with sales vendors; schedule and set-up sales and rep presentations.
  • Act as a liaison between specified university and REES. 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience is needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a Council for Interior Design Accredited program.
  • In the process of acquiring state registered interior design certification. 
  • Requires basic knowledge of programming and functional analysis as well as knowledge of space planning principals.
  • Requires substantial knowledge of procedures for production of construction documents.
  • Furniture Fixtures & Equipment knowledge.
  • Ability to originate technical research.
  • Extensive working knowledge of REVIT.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite programs. 
  • Experience with Lumion a plus.
