Master Planning and Design of Lenoir Woods Senior Living Complex

The Lenoir Woods site currently supports independent living, nursing and dementia, 12 single family neighborhoods and a day care facility. The campus also has a large banquet facility providing support functions for the independent and nursing apartments. The existing Manor Building, built in 1947, remains the icon building for the campus. Planning and design took advantage of the rolling topography of the site to control construction costs. The first phase places a new entrance boulevard off Lenoir Road featuring the historic Manor Building. A new three level independent living building with parking below parallels the existing tree line and is connected by a pedestrian bridge to the end of the existing banquet facility. A new Wellness Center with a pool is envisioned at the east end of the existing banquet facility to provide a transition from the new commons area to the new seven household skilled nursing and special care facility.
